This was Kasamahan's first event and was started by nonprofit President, Cristina in 2021 with Illinois based therapists. Since Kasamahan's nonprofit status was established in 2023, Vice President, Edward took on the role of Facilitator. In 2024, Secretary, Eliza expanded our online presence and now there are licensed Filipino/a/x mental health professionals participating from different locations such as California, Texas, New York, Ontario, Canada and more. As our consultation group continues to grow, Edward creates and maintains structure to support safety that invites all licensed Filipino/a/x mental health professionals to consult and collaborate for the mental health care of their clients and patients. This event may be attended by non-licensed Board Directors to support them in upholding Kasamahan's Mission. If you have any questions or concerns, you may contact Edward directly at dr.edwardfajardo@gmail.com

Are you a Filipino/a/x mental health professional interested in facilitating a Workshop with Kasamahan in 2025?

Salo-salo in Tagalog loosely translates to feast, gathering, or party. This is a casual social gathering held through Zoom for all Filipino/a/x mental health professionals to connect with each other in a more personal way through both similar and diverse Filipino/a/x experiences.

Who do we consider a mental health professional?

Licensed therapists and clinicians recognized by a governing Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Counseling, Psychology or Medical Board from their state or country.

Non-licensed students, professors, researchers, authors, community workers, consultants, coaches, healers, and practitioners recognized by their community in providing education and support that is focused on mental health care.

New to Kasamahan? Try our social event!

Many of the participants in our salo-salos provide feedback on how surprisingly comfortable it is to make kuwentuhan and to experience kapwa amongst Filipino/a/x mental health professionals.

This event is also our Board Consultant, Michael Morales, LMFT's favorite part of Kasamahan due to the energy created in this space.
